Regulations of the Flemish Government
The Flemish Government mandates the installation of solar panels on buildings with an electricity consumption exceeding 1 gigawatt-hour per year, effective by June 30, 2025! For government buildings, the threshold is set at 250 megawatt-hours per year.
Obligation to Take Action Yourself
As a company, you are expected to determine independently whether you fall under this “PV obligation” and then take the necessary steps yourself. There are, of course, numerous conditions and specific procedures associated with this.
If you do not comply with the obligation in time, your company will be subject to a fine.
